The Come Play! Open Day in February was such a great success at the 150 participating clubs, TNZ have decided to do it again in 2010, with a view to it becoming a pivotal part of the traditional New Zealand ‘Summer of Tennis’.

Industry supporters from this year met with Tennis New Zealand people this week over lunch to discuss plans for next year. They also heard from Jellicoe Park club president Carol Bourke (second from left) who told them about how their club added 32 new members on the day this year!

It is planned to extend the Come Play! Open Day to 180 clubs in 2010. The nationwide Open Day will be on Sunday 14 February 2010 – Valentines Day – so that should fit in nicely with the proposed theme to returning tennis players, of ‘Falling in love with tennis all over again!’
