To celebrate the grand opening of Kia Motors new Head Office, an exhibition tennis match between New Zealand tennis greats James Greenhalgh, Steve Downs, Shona Lee and Julia Sim was staged in the vast warehouse to underline the close links between Kia and tennis in New Zealand and around the world. Kia Motors is bucking international trends among car manufacturers and expanding its New Zealand operations. The investment in the new Highbrook headquarters in Auckland is the next step in a programme aimed at growing the presence of the world-wide Korean brand in this market. The complex is five times the size of its previous building in Mt Wellington and incorporates the Kia Motors New Zealand headquarters, expanded warehousing and a retail showroom to showcase vehicles to the public.

Manurewa Tennis Club is celebrating its 100 Year Jubilee over the Labour Weekend 23 – 25  October, 2009.
The Club is one of Auckland’s oldest tennis clubs having been established originally as Manurewa Lawn Tennis Club in 1909.
