Troy Turnbull will be running a Singles Tournament for players with a Topdog ranking between S3 and S8. This will be a great opportunity for junior and adult players who want some match practice in the middle of winter.

  • Open to non-club members
  • Players will be grouped with similar Topdog rankings (results will be recorded on Topdog)
  • matches will be best of 3 sets with a 3rd set super Tie-break
  • Guaranteed 2 matches
  • The Tournament will be completed in one day
  • Entry $25; BBQ included
  • Great Prizes as usual
  • Start time 8am for the lucky ones

Pompallier Champagne Bollinger Invitation Tennis Tournament – 50th Anniversary

Pompallier Tennis Club are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Champagne Bollinger Invitation Tournament.  The tournament will be held over the weekends of 15 & 16, and 22 & 23 August, 2009.  Men’s and Women’s singles and doubles will be offered for open and B Grade.  Entries will be accepted via the Tennis NZ Tournaments website in July.  For more information click here or to download the entry form click here.  Entries close at 5pm on Tuesday 11th August, 2009. 

2009 Auckland Indoor July Tournament

The Auckland Indoor July Tournament will be held from Sunday 5th to Thursday 9th July, 2009.  Entries are now open for the event.  Entries will be limited to 48 players per draw.  Entries will be accepted strictly on a first in first served basis.  There will be no on-line registration for this tournament.  This is a singles only tournament and all matches will be played indoors at either ASB Tennis Centre, or Scarbro Tennis Centre.  For full information and to download the entry form click here.

2008/09 Interclub Prizegiving & Awards

The Tennis Auckland awards for the 2008/09 season were handed out last night with Kohimarama being named the Senior Club of the Year and Royal Oak the Junior Club of the Year (Angela Swinkles accepts Royal Oak’s award from Tennis Auckland President, Donald Sim, left). New Zealand No1 Marina Erakovic was confirmed as the overall Player of the Year after becoming just the second Kiwi woman to be ranked inside the top-50 in the world and having some strong results internationally. Junior male player Ray Rodgers Trophy was given to Campbell Park’s Jamie Eccleton who won the 16’s nationals title as well as excelled in other national and international junior events in New Zealand and played Caro Bowl for his club. The Junior female Jean Ferrier Trophy was awarded to Mission Bay’s Imogen Golder who also won the 16’s nationals and was a strong competitor in other domestic junior events as well as playing Caro Bowl.
