Dianne Hollands beat Shona Lee 2-6 6-2 6-3 to win the Womens’ Singles at the NZ Residential Championships at North Harbour.  Hollands beat Lee a week earlier in the final of the Fuji Xerox Auckland Champs.  Shona combined with Kairangi Vano to collect the doubles title over Guthrie and Harris.  The Men’s Singles was won by Adam Thompson who beat Dan King-Turner in a third set tie-breaker.

Auckland junior Shona Lee lost 6-4 6-2 to Dianne Hollands in the final of the Fuji Xerox Auckland Championships at Vodafone Tennis Park.  The Men’s Final was won by Adam Thompson in two tie-breaker sets against Robert Cheyne.

Experience proved to be the winner in the semifinals of the Fuji Xerox Auckland Tennis Chamionships as top seed Adam Thompson and third seed Robbie Cheyne cruised in the men’s singles final.

Thompson, 24, literally blasted his way past fourth seed 19 year old Andrew Allan with some powerful forehands and serves to win 6-3 6-1.  Allan who has been one of the stand out performers in local competition with a never say die attitude couldn’t find his rhythm against Thompson who has been a member of the Davis Cup team the past few years.
