One of the most consistent players in Grand Slam tennis in 2005 is set to grace the courts at the 2006 ASB Classic. Russian world No.10, Nadia Petrova, has confirmed she will play the ASB Classic featuring the Sovereign singles and doubles at the ASB Tennis Centre, January 2nd-7th, 2006.
After a highly successful series of results on the Women’s Circuit, Sacha Jones turned her attention back to the juniors at an ITF Group 2 event in Thailand. Jones, seeded third for the week, was defeated 6-7 7-6 6-3 by Sung-Hee Han (Kor) in the first round.
William Ward beat Stuart Waters (USA) 6-4 6-3 to qualify for the main draw of the US$15000 Men’s Futures tournament at Arlington, Texas. Ward played a consistent match to earn his place in the main draw.
